An easy read that makes your heart feel warm. It’s full of love and joy, get goes through challenges of long lost family. It’s a wonderfully written easy and enjoyable read

Such an enjoyable novel. I imagine the author deciding on a plotline by pulling slips of paper out of three hats labeled celebrity, location, and cause. Maggie Smith, Antarctica, and Conservation could easily be the catalyst to write this cranky old lady's story and her consequent thawing amidst a colony of Adelie penguins and the small band of scientists studying them. A light read with plenty of depth.

I sort of enjoyed this book.
veronica is an elderly lady who lives in the South West of Scotland. She is 85 years old and lives alone. She is lonely and wants to do something more with her life. She sees a documentary about Penguins and this sparks an idea. She decides that she wants to learn more about the research that is being done with this particular colony of penguins.
Just before Veronica heads to the research island she discovers that she has a Grandson she never knew about. Will she still go to the research island or stay at home?
I loved Veronica's spunkiness, I hope that I as spunky when I reach 85.
Veronica learns a lot about herself and what she is capable of and what is important to her.
