This was honestly the best book I’ve read this year. 
I don’t think you need to enjoy video games to love this book. The characters were so beautifully written and the development of them was amazing. 

I was utterly heartbroken about Marx dying and didn’t expect it happening until the moment the shooter scene was written. The way the characters grief was written too also had me crying.

Beautifully written.

I hate video games, but I could still relate to this book about video game creators. One of the main characters is Asian, biromantic, autistic, asexual, and disabled and I will protect him with my life. The book makes you suspend disbelief sometimes, but it still tells a beautiful story of love and friendship.
