I grabbed this book because it was free, and the last 2 free books I read were excellent. I found the plot was simplistic and predictable; the characters were very 1 dimensional. The mystery was formula, and the romance sophomoric. The Christian references were superfluous, and I felt like they were added as an after though. It just didn't seem to fit with the story or characters. The ending is the type everyone hopes for, but it was unrealistic, that the protagonists changed their ways in such a short time. I'm just glad it is over.

I know this book has gotten mixed reviews, but I liked it just as much as the first one and I can't wait to read #3!

A kindle freebie and the second in the series. It wasn't as good as the first and the storyline was pretty unbelievable. But reality wasn't what I was looking for and it wasn't a bad book.

Another freebie from Amazon for my Kindle. I had previously downloaded (for free) and read the first in this series "Gone to Green." I really enjoyed that and was so excited and surprised to find that they later offered the second one for free. It picks up right where the first book left off, with our newspaper owner Lois Barker starting her second year in tiny Green Louisiana. I really enjoyed this one as well, and will need to purchase the final one in the trilogy to find out what happens to all of these lovely characters :)

I tended to like the first book better. With this one, the mystery was easy to figure out and the romance was predictable. I liked it enough to continue on with the third book, but overall it was just OK.
