I feel like I lived an entire lifetime of emotions through this book. Everything was so nuanced and felt so emotionally charged that it became impossible to not connect on all levels with these two.
It takes a special kind of a woman to struggle and fight so hard against so much anguish and still somehow stay true to herself, or at the very least, try to. Tess’s internal strength and her external support system were so well portrayed I don’t even know where to start praising these characters and how.
Also, the fact that Ryan, being the puppy he is, made sure that Tess was always heard but also that she talked things through with him and didn’t run at the first sign of trouble. Literally
