I absolutely loved this book. I listened to the audiobook which I definitely recommend… I don’t relate to Tess at all, especially her personality which made this book all the more unpredictable to me. Ryan is bae. And I loved hearing more from Caleb Mars and Jacob.

The ending saved this book!

Usually I'm down for some good smut, but this felt a little excessive

Look, I know you don’t really read these books for the plot. But Jesus, this “plot”.

All of the drama felt like it was built on the flimsiest reasons, and while I know I was supposed to root for Tess,  she needed to either be less broken or more mature. All I could see was her unintentionally manipulating via sex Ryan due to her complete lack of accountability or healing prior to getting with him.

I found myself skipping through the spice scenes (arguably the only reason to read this in the first place) because the whole thing felt so gross.

Not to mention… IN THE BABYS NURSERY?! On the CHANGING TABLE?! Biggest ick I’ve ever had from a book, which is impressive.

I very much doubt I’ll continue the series after this.

I was eager to dive into Tess’ story in Pucking Wild, and it did not disappoint! I loved watching the real Tess emerge as the story unfolded, and Ryan’s character development was just as compelling.

Another fantastic spicy hockey romance from Emily Rath!
