When I tell you this book is so good, from the beginning it kept me captivated in this world full of sci-fi, politics, alien royalty, romance, and spice. This book truly has it all—an exquisite plot. We encounter a story of our two characters from the very start, something quite melancholic with everything that happens in that prequel before the current timeline begins. It truly leaves you with your heart in your hand due to all the events, but at the same time, Heinrich's writing style and approach completely captivate you. This book had me on the verge of tears due to the beauty and sadness of some events, especially Zireth; that man can give you the entire galaxy at your feet, and there's nothing he wouldn't do for Althea. Both characters are explosive; the desire between them wreaks havoc wherever they go. They're fierce in many aspects, particularly their commitment to each other's well-being. Althea, OMG, this character is flawless; she's strong, brave, capable, and a total badass. Incredibly strong after what happened to her people, she is remarkably loyal to her own, I adored her attitude throughout the book; the intensity she possesses within was outstanding. And let's not forget the steamy scenes; wow, they're truly passionate in bed. I admire the way the scenes are depicted.

The world-building is perfect; it enveloped me in an incredible sci-fi world. I felt like I was watching a movie in my mind with all the descriptions, the world, the plot. I was astonished by this world, and now I can't wait to read the next one.

Arc review

I loved Corrupted Mate! Rejected fated mates, Althea and Zireth are back together to work on a mission, even though she hates him with a fiery passion. Zireth is the ultimate morally grey character while Althea is our strong badass warrior. The plot was gripping and I enjoyed every second of it. I loved the tension and witty remarks between characters, you could cut the tension with a knife! The spice was unbelievable and oh-so spicy, exactly what we expect from Trish, who’s a wizard with words

This is an unedited, “I just finished this book and need to immediately scream about my emotions” review. YOU GUYS. I am still vibrating. This might be the best enemies-to-lovers I’ve ever read. The opening novella? An absolute gut-punch that sent my on such a high only to slam my face into a box of tissues. And then to have that followed up by the pure rage of Althea (FMC) and the smug attitude of Zireth (MMC)? DELICIOUS. I. ATE. IT. UP. The anger. The loathing. The all-encompassing guilt. The simultaneous need to avenge and make amends. Yes, the spice spices in this book. But it’s like the cherry on top of everything else. It’s the verbal barrage between these two followed by their physicality/fighting with one another that pushes the story through and is also overwhelmingly HOT.

I absolutely loved Sinful Mate and I can’t believe that this one is EVEN BETTER. Now to patiently (impatiently) wait for the next one.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book, and this is my voluntary, honest review.

Quote: Because I’m here to steal from her. Because I have never built anything, I’ve only ever destroyed. And I’ll do the same to her.

Zireth is on a mission to keep a weapon out of his family’s hands, and then he meets Althea.  And then he fluffs up and she hates him.  It’s delicious.

Trish Heinrich had me by the optic nerve for this entire story. In both eyes. I stopped only to scream at my friends about the immaculate vibes before I plunged back in and didn’t come up for air. And that early part, when it appears to be going so well, you know what’s going to happen. It does. And it just keeps getting better.

This book had me capslocking at my Reylo friends. Some of them don’t even read sci-fi. That didn’t stop me.

Lovers to enemies to lovers again was new for me. Full of action and a great story line. The characters have depth and are easy to fall for.

I believe is this my first alien 👽 on alien 👾 romance read and I was immediately hooked. The passion for each other, for their home and their people was just beautiful, it’s beyond words. The instant love and lust created by the mating bond between Althea and Zireth was intense and I was all for it.

This was my first read from Heinrich, this galactic world with different species of aliens and humans is one I definitely enjoyed and can’t wait to read more of.

I was hooked from page one , the passion between Althea and Zireth was undeniably from the start and the betrayal by Zireth hurt my soul.

Finding each other again and coming together toward a common goal although Althea carried so much hate and hurt in her heart, awhile Zireth was hurting from longing and broken heart 💔 literally was devastating beautiful to experience.

The mate chase was hot hot hot. And all the different sexy parts from these aliens were 🔥🔥🔥. We all love a good knot 🪢😉. And the tail play ☄️☄️☄️🥰. No words!!!

I can’t wait for the next installment of this series Forbidden Mate  and I already added Sinful mate books 1 in the Infinite Unions series.

🥵😮‍💨 This book. Lord have mercy. I’ve always been a fan of enemies to lovers, but the way that Trish Heinrich did it was 1000/10. The prequel novella made it that much more angsty and I LOVED IT. The tension was *chefs kiss*. Throw in some primal play and tail play?…I was clutching my pearls in the best way. I’m obsessed with Zireth and Althea.

oh gosh, i did NOT expect this book to make me cry. i loved this so much, the right amount of hate and love. and i really really appreciated the mental health rep!! and also letting women be amazing and strong and not just waiting for the man to fix things. this was such a fun read that had me going until 3am and im looking forward to what else is coming from this series!!

Are you tired of reading something marketed as enemies to lovers but really it's not? Well, friends, you will not be disappointed in this one. These two are enemies. I mean, Zireth destroyed Althea's entire planet and killed thousands of her people. Talk about hate.... Now I will say, this is also second chance. But it's mainly, I hate you, you killed my people, I will unalive you at some point. But also like the tiniest bit of, but you're still fine as hell, dammit. As for Zireth: "...if I couldn't have her love, I'd drink down her hate until it choked me and then beg for more."

I love what Trish did with this book. Where she took the characters, the secrets revealed. It's just SO GOOD. But I also love the subtle commentary on how we treat and view different social and cultural groups, prejudice, and more. It never detracts from the story, nor does it ever feel preachy. In fact, you may even miss it; it may not even be intentional. However, I read it with intent and feel that it should be eye opening to others in how we treat one another, our fellow humans.

Ok, ALL THAT SAID, this book is such a slow, sensual burn. You cannot wait for them to finally cave and give into the urges that have been plaguing them. Like, how can they save the universe if they are THIS horny!?!? I ask you! How?!?!

P.S. He wears a kilt.
P.P.S. He has a cock pocket.
P.P.P.S. He steals her underwear but it's not creepy, I promise. I cannot resist #PocketPanties

This is a great second book in a stellar series. I am SO EXCITED about the next book OMG!!!!

TL; DR
Bottom Line:
Fighting that turns to f**king
Forced Proximity
He never wavered
Primal Chasing
Touch her and unalive
Tail Play
DP
Smelling
Would burn the galaxy for her
