I was totally captivated by this beautiful, breathtaking and sizzling romance. Ember has recently lost a father she never knew. He left his huge wealthy ranch to her when he passed, asking only that she spend four months there before she makes any decision to sell. Ember is a free spirited California girl, but is also smart, strong, and adventurous. She wants to give Texas and ranch life an honest shot, but she has a lot to learn. There are many who want to get their hands on her ranch and will do whatever it takes to convince her to sell. When she first arrives, she has a breathtaking and hilarious meet cute with Nash. He had an easy confidence, charm, and rugged sexiness that called to her. But she soon learns that he works hard to get what he wants, and he wants her ranch for it's oil. But he never expected the beautiful woman he thought would be his adversary. She was the perfect blend of sweet innocence, with a wild spirit that made him want to break all his rules. They are drawn to each other right from the start and their chemistry is explosive! Ember is learning more about the ranch and falling in love with her new life. But when secrets are revealed, Embers world is once again shattered when she thinks she's been played. This is a thrilling and heart-pounding story that kept me riveted and on a roller-coaster of emotions from beginning to end. I loved both Ember and Nash, they felt real and authentic and their relationship was so fun, beautiful, and passionate. They were so perfect for each other, from their love of the outdoors and Texas sunsets, to their fiery passion.
Stella Hunter, and Lance Greenfield were perfectly cast as Ember and Nash. They skillfully made these characters so clear to me, making me care for them quickly. Their inflections were breathtaking, and their chemistry was palpable. I was completely lost in their storytelling as they made this beautiful story even more irresistible!

Author Beverly Preston is winning hearts left and right with CATCHING EMBER, the first book in her Buckle Up series. CATCHING EMBER, a story of discovering one's true self and coming out the stronger for it, this book had me from the very first page.
The first time that Ember Thompson and Nash Harris meet is nothing short of breathtaking, a close call that neither of them will forget. And neither will they forget the spark that ignites that day, and burns higher and brighter each time they meet. But the two couldn't be more different. She's a free spirit looking for her roots, and he's all business, determined to do what he needs to get what he wants. As time goes on, though, hidden strengths and vulnerabilities come together to help both Ember and Nash grow in ways that neither anticipated, and to move into the lives that they were born to live.
There is so much in this story, so much passion, growth, and fulfillment. If Ember shows Nash and the rest of the good old Texas boys one thing, it is not to underestimate her. Grounded yet fiery, unschooled yet canny, and determined to prove herself, Ember demonstrates to Nash, herself, and everyone else that she is more than capable of just about anything that her new life would bring her way. And Nash, well, there are many layers that do not fully come out until Ember helps him to see that she wants him just as he is, and he allows himself to be the person that he wants to be, and not who he has been.
There are plenty of poignant moments to CATCHING EMBER, but it is, at the end, very much a feel-good read, and one that I enjoyed very much. Beverly, welcome back, and thank you. ❤️

I haven’t read anything by Beverly Preston previously, but I am adding JC & Reeds book to my TBR now. You don’t NEED to read their book, but if you like to know about characters that are together in new books & have their own previously published, you can read their story in Surviving Broken.
When looking, I found out this was her first book in a few years. It was a great debut back into the romance world. The banter with all of the characters was one of my favorites. Not to mention HOT Texas cowboys with dirty mouths? Who can say no to that?
This was about Ember & Nash. Ember has something left to her that Nash wants. In the end they both come out winners with more than they could’ve expected.

I liked Catching Ember and finished it within one day. I was thankful the author didn’t get into much detail about the realities of cattle ranching (vegan here). Even though I thought Nash, Ember, and the secondary characters all made for pleasant reading I felt their characterizations were all rather superficial. There was some conflict and a dramatic rescue but neither situation affected me as much as I would have wanted.
