I want to marry Kenzo Tenma (no offense to my husband)

Dr. Tenma to the rescue! That final scene got me holding the edge of my seat!
finishing all 74 episodes of Monster is such a commitment but it is worth the ride.
It can also get grimmer so I had to watch at around 5-6 episodes at a time.
Overall, i love how I was able to watch an anime far different from my usual slice of life, shoujo types

Perfect, beautiful and one of best stories I have read. The blurb does not prepare you at all for the journey it takes you on. I did not expect this to be such a humane story. Loved everything about it.
September 2023. Over September (and wrapping up on the 30th) I read this complex political conspiracy thriller drenched in guilt, corruption, but with a hope for finding the goodness and kindness in some everyday people across age, background, race, and nationality.
What starts as choosing a surgery for the first in need over the wealthy as a statement about the equality of all people spirals into over a decade long story with an expansive cast of characters, serial killings, and ethical debates that crosses cities and countries in its scope.
Reminded me a bit of Ira Levin’s The Boys From Brazil with the decades after upswell of political radicalism with its roots in WWII conflict (also an excellent book) and the element of conspiracy thriller at its core.
Absolutely looking forward to checking out his other series. Borrowed these through Sacramento Library and the Link+ System that let me borrow volumes from all over California libraries.
Naoki Urasawa’s Monster.

This was just great. This volume had me gasping so loudly I was told I sounded "demonic" (lol) and then crying within the course of 10 minutes Overall, this series was fantastic and literally had me reading the last seven volumes in a day.
I'm trying to remember how I came across this series, but I really can't recall. I think it was recommended to me by someone, but unfortunately I don't know who to thank for it.

Un chef d'oeuvre sans nom.
Done. The series is finished. After the last several issues, I was starting to struggle with my interest. This volume did nothing to help. We get Tenma's ending and sort of Nina's and Detective Lunge. BUt what about Wim's father? SO much was left unresolved with characters like Grimmer. I constantly struggled to really understand what happened with the twins, kinderheim, and why all this in the town especially. Why the "suicide" desire? It was a good series overall but the further in this all got, the more muddled it became. Maybe if I was more familiar with Germany it would have helped? IDK. The last page especially has me with unresolved feelings and thoughts. And poof! Now it is over, never to know...
