A quite enjoyable collection! As with any other collection of short stories, some were mediocre at best and others were good, but the good ones were well-written and engaging enough to solidify my opinion. "The Reed-fish Girl of Comara Cove", "Vergreva" and "Children of Scale" were my favourite three of the collection.
I'll be honest, a couple of the stories were pretty ham-fisted and clumsy, and you could tell when an author was writing about an issue that they hadn't experienced personally, but they were well-meaning. That was enough for me, but it mightn't be enough for you. Still, I'd recommend giving this a try. More diverse fantasy, please!
