This one was so good! 4.25 rounded down. Romantic suspense age gap romance between a single dad sheriff and a woman he saved from a serial killer. Normally not a huge age gap fan but Lawson is just the best. I loved the whole series and really don’t know if I can pick a favorite. They were all great in their own way.

Ruined. I am ruined by this book and this series. Catherine is my new queen and I will take no criticism of her or this series.

I knew I was going to adore Lawson's story (hence why I put off reading it for so long) and I was right. Lawson Hartley is the best dad in the world and the most amazing man! I know he didn't always believe he was a good dad, especially when Luke was giving him a hard time, but Law was an amazing father and tried so hard for his boys every day. And I love that Hallie helped the boys see that during the book. And Hallie was the sweetest angel of life, okay?! I relate to characters in my books more often than not, which is why they always make me so emotional, but I really related to Hallie and all her mental health struggles. I was crying before I was even 100 pages into this story because Hallie and I share our mental health struggles, so I was extra emotional over this story and what Hallie was experiencing. Obviously, I didn't experience what Hallie did, but I was so proud to watch her overcome all the things she went through to grow and fight her anxiety and PTSD.

The boys?! Oh, my gosh the Hartley boys are the most amazing kids ever! Charlie was the sweetest kid with such a big heart, Drew was hilariously charming and always making everyone laugh, and Luke had his struggles and was rough on the outside, but inside he was such a gooey cinnamon roll once he started opening up. Hallie really helped Luke come out of his shell and I loved watching Luke change from a young kid filled with attitude into an amazingly kind and big-hearted young man. I loved watching Hallie with the Hartley boys and how much each one of them opened up more with her around; she was able to help them see that they could be themselves and it really brought out their personalities. I loved watching Hallie bring the Hartley family together, too, because Lawson and his boys were kind of distant from each other at the start, but Hallie helped them all heal together.

I can't say enough good things about this book, so I'll leave it here because otherwise, I'll be babbling about it for days. But, just know, that this is officially living rent-free in my head! The Lost & Found series is officially my new comfort series and I anticipate 1000s of rereads in my future. I am in my Catherine Cowles era now and no one can save me...but don't even try because this is where I'm meant to be.

Quotes I Loved:

"I knew because he'd been and done that for me. A blinking light of kindness on my darkest night." -Hallie

"A smile lit her face, morphing her beauty from something that stopped you in your tracks to something you'd never forget. It was the kind of beauty that could change a man if he let it." -Lawson

"I could never keep you out. You're burned into me, Hallie. Into my goddamned bones. And I wouldn't want it any other way." -Lawson

"Can't imagine doing life without you. Not now. Hallie, you've ruined me. But, I'd burn myself to ash over and over if it meant getting you in the end."
-Lawson

"It's you, Blue. You're the one who brought me out of the ashes. It's always been you."
-Hallie
