I really enjoyed reading this book. A friend recommended this after I told him about Fourth Wing and how much I loved that. I will say this is more traditional fantasy, and better than Fourth Wing in that regard. This is the kind of book you read to your kids as a bed time story. It's dragons and adventure. I think this is the first fantasy book I've read that focused more on plot than just character development. Fourth Wing and Age of Myth focused on telling you how the characters handled what was going on in the books. You follow the plot through the lens of the characters, but the characters definitely are the main focus. This book gave you the plot, and through reading the plot, you learned more about the characters, but plot was the primary focus. I really enjoyed it and I'm excited to start the next book.

This book was horribly written, but the plot more than made up for that so it is forgiven

While the narrative is very cliche fanatasy, it is still done really well. The best part of this book is definitely the sense of adventure, the author did a great job at creating a fun world for them to travel through. Eragon was a good hiking buddy :)

I just thought this was fun. Really easy read, not much thinking, young author, but the story was just what I wanted. Nice little adventure.

It is boring and poorly written and life is too short
