(TW: Domestic Violence )
“I don’t want to go to prison now I’m finally free.”
👆🏽That’s basically the quote that sums up the whole book to be honest. I had overwhelming anxiety from the very first chapter because you know from the jump that Sally killed her husband and you don’t know what’s gonna happen after that. Did he deserve it? Absolutely TF yes. Does she deserve to go to prison? Absolutely TF not. But, that’s not always how things work so ya gotta let it play out.
I absolutely loved the themes of sisterhood, courage and empowerment in this book.
The only thing that I wish is that it would’ve came out DURING the pandemic. I only say that because I feel like I would’ve been more immersed in the story if I could’ve felt the same sense of confinement as them. I definitely remember the feeling, but it’s different now and fleeting so if I had read it then it definitely would’ve had a deeper impact.

It's a good storyline but I'm still not into reading anything Covid themed so it was mentally hard for me to get through. At least I didn't DNF it. 1 star for the funny moments. 1 star for the short chapters.
