Okay. This. Was. Amazing!!!!!
This whole series has kept me on edge. Lindsay Buroker's characters all hold a special place in heart, I mean come on! Their personalities are just so likeable! The character development has been perfect and I love the fact that their plans don't always work out as planned. Watching Amarathe's relationship with Sicarius has been so sweet and fun. I like that they didn't just instantly fall in love with each other and that it grew gradually. I also love that Sicarius kept his personality. I love that he didn't have a drastic change that would eradicate everything I adored about him in the first place.
Amaranthe is an extremely powerful heroine, she proves that you don't always have to wait for someone to come rescue you and that violence isn't always the way.
R.I.P Books you will be sorely missed. *sniffs*

Overall this is an amazing series! Buroker's writing is phenomenal and WOW just WOW....

Very satisfying series. Great characters, exciting adventures (with lots of explosions and disasters), and just the right level of romantic/sexual tension.

Oh, so much fun! I actually read this in two days because I just couldn’t put it down.

Hard to talk about this one without putting out spoilers. I will say the plot was action packed. And we get a few new faces – Tikaya and Rias from Lindsay’s prequel series Encrypted and Decrypted. I admit that I actually like this series more than the Emperor’s Edge series, so I was excited to see them again.

However, with these new additions, it just became too many characters. It was a bit hard to keep track of them all.

But I have to admit that Lindsay does a good job of tying up all the loose ends. The ending satisfied me. I think it was a good wrap up for the series.

I liked most of this book, and most of it felt like a really good conclusion to the series. But I found the denouement really unsatisfying, in a dramatic and emotional sense.

Rather than have the pivotal, concluding battle be against any of the pretenders to the throne, it was against wild beasts and a mob of citizens and gang members. And Books death, the only member of Amaranthe's direct crew to die, happened off screen and lost a lot of the emotional impact if should have had. Finally, calling the death of all those people, even if they were gang members, a net good didn't sit well with me.

The epilogue was more in keeping with the rest of the book, but that big fight scene really left a bad taste in my brain and lessened some of my enjoyment of the rest of the book.

I still recommend this series, it's just too bad the last book doesn't quite live up to the promise of the whole.

3.5! i'm slightly sad abt something that happened in the book and i think it's affecting my overall outlook of the book but aside from that, it was a satisfactory ending! these books were quick and enjoyable and i'm glad i read them.
