Eh. I honestly didn't like it that much. I didn't like either of the main characters... I thought they were both generally full of crap. Tessa lies to everyone, all the time (including herself) because she has some massive Ms Fix-it complex. But Luke isn't much better. He's happy to be judgmental about her faults, but he's not interested in talking about anything, at all, ever. Not Simone, not his divorce. So he's just a big hypocrite.

Eh.

After a long semester of studying, I just wanted an easy fluffy type book that could keep me entertained but I didn't have to think about too much. Good Girls Don't certainly delivers on that and then some. Victoria Dahl could easily have written a story where the two main characters of Tessa and Luke meet, hook, have problems, and then live happily ever after but she chose to flush out their backstories and make them more complex then a lot of chick lit authors. The dynamic of Tessa with her brothers was definitely the most fascinating and one that resonated with me personally as I too am the youngest girl with two older brothers. Jamie and Eric's inability to see their little sister as an adult and her trying desperately to keep the family together were all very real emotions that helped make the characters "real people." Add in Luke who is your stereotypical dark tall handsome and brooding man who turns out to not be as stereotypical as you think and well, it makes for a fun story!

If you're looking for a fun read that will keep you entertained with the characters as much as the stories, I recommend this book. God knows, I'm excited to read the next two books in the series just to gain more insight into the Donovan boys.

Tessa Donovan is the baby sister at the Donovan Brothers Brewery and has spent a lot of her life trying to play peace maker between her two older brothers. What they don't realize is that behind the good girl who helps run the family business it a bad girl waiting to break out. Detective Luke Asher does take notice and quickly these two realize that the sparks between them are hot, hot, hot! While trying to negotiate their blossoming relationship, Luke is trying to crack the case in the break-in at the brewery and Tessa is trying to keep her family from cracking. Great story of family love and devotion and a wonderfully hot and sexy relationship between Tessa and Luke. Great introduction to the new Victoria Dahl series and I'm excited for what comes next!

It was pretty good. I've only read a novella by Dahl before that was in a compilation book. And that time and this time I'm left with a feeling like she tries too hard to make her books dirty. They just don't seem genuine and are a bit forced. I will be reading the brothers' stories so it obviously didn't force me to put the book down.

This is the first book in a trilogy about 3 siblings who own a brewery. First up is Tessa who is the peacekeeper between her two older brothers. She tries her best to keep the wrath of the good one of the playboy brother. But this book is not about them, they will have their spotlight later on.

Tessa is a good girl, she works hard and she is good at hiding things from her brothers. Most importantly that she dates. Oh those brothers think that their sister never even looks at men. But then they are very protective and I can’t fault them for that quality. Still they sure do not want her to date Luke Dasher as he has a bad rep. But this bad boy cop is not a bad boy after all when we get to know him more. He has had it rough.

The story is about these two trying to get close, but there is that reputation in the way, and her brothers. But that will not stop these two from getting a little passion in their lives. There is also the story about who robbed the brewery.

Sure the book was good but at times I just do not know. It felt like there was something missing. Perhaps it could have been a tad funnier. I just do not know why I did not like it more. Because I still enjoyed the book. It was a nice story about a two people falling in lust and love. I also liked her brothers, even the good boring one, I actually liked him more. He had to grow up so fast and take care of his sister and brother when their parents died.

Conclusion:
If you like her other books then I am sure you will like this new series too.

A nice and easy read, perfect for traveling - although I'm sure I blushed a few times while reading it. There were a few unexpected sexy scenes, which surprised me during a boring train journey :)

2.5-As far as contemporary romance goes, this was one of the better ones I have read. Fun dialogue and characters are appealing enough. I think overall fans of contemporary romance would enjoy this book.

The reason that I can't say that I really liked this book boils down to the fact that this genre just is not for me. The sex is always so heavy handed and it feels like nothing much happens between those scenes. Goes for pretty much every contemp romance I have read.

Good book. Both Luke and Tessa have trust issues. Luke can't open up about his past to anyone, even Tessa. Tessa feels like she has to be the one to keep the peace in her family, and doesn't trust anyone else to be able to do it. When Luke and Tessa first meet, they are warned away from each other by Tessa's brothers, who don't think he is anywhere near good enough for her. But she sees something they don't, and she wants more of it. Their physical connection is hot, but emotionally they are still pretty closed off. To add to that, Tessa is trying to rescue a business deal messed up by one brother, while keeping it from the other. There is also a mysterious break in at the brewery to figure out. I really enjoyed the story, and I'm looking forward to the other two.
