This was such a fun read. Zora and her siblings are the owners of burned Inc, a company that helps you (or does it for you) break off a relationship with someone. Zora is tasked with breaking up their client with Cyrus, an attorney on the verge of getting a promotion assuming he can prove he's a family man. After Zora breaks them up, Cyrus comes up with the idea of them fake dating for his job's sake, at least until he can see if he gets the promotion.

I really enjoyed the start to this series, and I can't wait for the next books in the series. I especially loved Zora, as well as her sister Miriam. I did not want to put this book down once I started it. I love her writing style, and the flow of this story. And the side characters were so great and enjoyable, with some comical moments.

I received a copy of the book via HonMag PR and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions.

The premise of this book was interesting. I enjoyed it
All the characters we are introduced to are great. I can't wait for Miriam and Jordan's book.

Zora's business is to end your relationship for you. When her client shows her a picture of who she wants to break up with Zora can't imagine why. He's handsome and successful.

It falls to her to deliver the news. What she doesn't expect is to run into him again while breaking up with someone else. She is most definitely attracted to him but he doesn't know that she was hired to break up with him. So how could they possibly work?

Cyrus is a man with a plan. And when Zora shows up on his doorstep to deliver a breakup letter from his girlfriend, his plans. are derailed. But there's no denying his attraction to Zora. When he runs into her again he strikes a deal with her. Spend the next few months getting to know each other and then have her pose as his girlfriend at his upcoming company retreat.
And she agrees.

Thank you so much to the author, and Xpresso Tours for this ARC to review.

⭐️⭐️.5 This one was a slow read to me. Just didn’t connect with the characters or the writing style. It was a very slow burn with a dragged out plot…like JUST COMMUNICATE ALREADY. I hate when people lie about things, especially over something as stupid as what your job is. It also had a 5 minute Hallmark like ending, where Cyrus just forgave her instantly without even having a discussion about it

Bi-racial “fake relationship”, plus-sized FMC, lawyer MMC with blue eyes, family drama/baggage from both parties, a breakup service and a quick read. Need I give you more.

Why did I finish this book? I was bored, the main characters were whiny, and I overall didn’t care for it. Why was it recommended or highly rated on Amazon? Did I miss something??

I enjoyed this! I liked both the back story along with the actual romance parts. I wish there was more love than there was lust, because then the romance at the end kind of got lost. Otherwise, I liked both the main characters & liked them together!

When Zara shows up at Cyrus’ to inform him that he’s being dumped the whole world should have turned upside down. Instead Cyrus feels relief. When Cyrus and Zara keep running into each other and Denver is no small town they feel like destiny is nudging them.

Heated was a fun read! The idea of a breakup company was completely original and hooked my attention. I knew this book would be interesting. Plus it was full of heart and dug deep into both character’s points of view.
