I refuse to believe Jessica Fletcher is pro-life

It's nice to have two of the Murder, She Wrote Christmas novels together in one set. I read these each when they first came out and enjoyed both.

I listed some of my favorite Christmas books in an early episode of the All the Books Show: https://soundcloud.com/allthebooks/episode-15-saint-nics-christmas-picks

A nice in-betweener book if you want to relax a bit. Typical Murder, She Wrote book with a bit of action but not too much. Jessica did not need to investigate a lot this time, but still solved everything. The back and forth with Jake was a bit weird, but reminded me of the TV show were similar things happened. What feels a bit forced is that certain people seem to appear in every single book for no good reason whatsoever—the Buckleys or mentioning George in passing for example.

Considering I literally grabbed this book on the way to the bathroom to read in the tub, it was pretty good. I didn’t guess the killer at all! Being a fan of the TV show, I could hear Angela’s Lansbury’s “voice” in my head when I was reading. Donald Bain captured the flavor and personality of Cabot Cove very well.

Being in Cabot Cove at Christmas time is a treat. I always enjoy a good mystery set at Christmas. Plenty of Christmas and Maine small town atmosphere.

Unfortunately the mystery was a bit simple, red herrings and suspect pool rather weak.
Guessing the murdered too easy.

More upsetting were the outdated views on sexual assault.

Manhattans and Murder - I discovered I read it pretty quickly after starting it.
