The 65th Anniversary special was the best part of this volume.

I don't really like what was done with Syn. I'm... incredibly tired of female villains who are actually just being abused and manipulated by the men in their lives. It makes the female villain Coates gave us in his current run even more refreshing. If Syn had came into her own as a villain trying to fulfill her father's legacy all on her own, I would've been interesting. Not in her because, hello, still a nazi, but at least i wouldn't have had to watch her be beaten and slapped by Crossbones before jumping his bones (for some reason).

Anyway... yeah, the classic Cap and Bucky comic was great.

This was an interesting comic for me because I've been wanting to know more about Sin for awhile. I didn't like all of the parts in this comic, but mostly a great Captain America comic.

Brubaker continues bringing the intrigue, creating a Cap story which feels more like a multilayered gritty spy thriller than the rock em sock em adventure tales Captain America is best known for. As far as I'm concerned, this is Cap at his best.

This was fine. I’m just really over this story. I’ve been reading it for weeks. It’s good but it’s just so a hard story to binge, because it’s super repetitive

I have read a couple of Cap comics and was always kind of Meh about him. But I really liked this one. Maybe because I am happy they are looking for Bucky. But art is awesome, Sin is freaking fantastic, and I even kind of like the SHIELD agent. I also like the flashback story thing in the middle about Bucky and the girl he loved. Anywho, good comic!

This volume unfolds like a murder mystery as Captain America and SHIELD follow up on reports of strange events hinting at deeper conspiracies. Going beyond the usual superhero fisticuffs, it has a bit of James Bond-style spycraft and romance. It's good enough to get me to read the next volume.

The World War II story made me so happy, mostly because it's Bucky being cocky and suave and I love him.

I wasn't quite prepared for this book - the first issue's worth of story is a villain brutally torturing a young woman in order to make her remember she's also a villain (she's been brainwashed by the good guys). It was...well, it was nasty. The rest of the main plot was good, but didn't seem quite up to the standard of [b:Captain America: Winter Soldier Ultimate Collection|8067175|Captain America Winter Soldier Ultimate Collection|Ed Brubaker|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1271737455s/8067175.jpg|12763413]. I did, though, really dig the final flashback story showing us Cap and Bucky during the war - and the present day scene afterwards, which gives me promise that this is all going somewhere good. I'll be sticking with it for volumes two and three.

Apparently Cap can run 60mph, Bucky had a secret war girlfriend, and they keep trying to make Cap/Sharon happen.
