This was a frustrating read. At times, evocative, memorable, profound, and at the same time, boring, badly executed, and a missed opportunity. This could have been a great story but it needed a massive edit. Long tedious sections of wandering around, no real sense of the emotional effect of the characters, a monotonal pacing, and an overly verbose prose.
The ideas are good, really good, and some sequences and dialogue hits the spot, but it's interspersed with sections I had to slog through.
A shame, but I'm hoping with time, the good aspects will rise to the top of my memory whilst the weak parts are covered like the red weed.

I can see why this is one of the most famous Sci-Fi book! This book has stood the test of time and had me stopping to think about society! This book has so many deep meanings about colonization and the role of religion and science that this book could be taken in many different ways. It is crazy to me to think that this book was written in 1895 but reads like it was written yesterday!

Good story. I certainly would help to have a better knowledge of England's geography and areas of London to better visualize where things were happening. Much better than the movie
