War of the worlds is a trail-blazing classic, but it walks so that the  genre it gives birth to can fly. Though boring in places, it remains a worthy window into 19th century outer-space thought and forerunning modern apocalyptic philosophy.

fun to read something that inspired a ton of sci fi later on.

A reason this is a classic. Extreme Martian invasion action! Melting people, dead in the streets, chaos. The Tripods are coming!

I've loved the music for a very long time. Reading the book was fantastic. I think this might get a re-read at some point.

An innovative work of early sci-fi that has aged shockingly well. was so ahead of its time that I found it to be a thrilling experience over a century after its creation! Its tense plot is enjoyable from a pulp perspective, but its creativity and critique of imperialism cement it as an all-time classic.

A really interesting read. It was different from what I expected and really highlighted how different the world was back then.

A world where 20 miles down the road, nobody knows what is happening...unthinkable today :-)

It is an interesting story and a bit of a historical document at the same time...

Highly recommended.
