Felt like two plots that could just be books by themselves.
Overall entertaining and liked the ending!

The second half of this book is far better than the first. I liked all the twists and turns and was surprised by most of them.
It had a really good pace and just as I thought I was working it out, it went somewhere different. I enjoyed it alot. 4*

This book started off really strong and had me pulled in but then got really confusing toward the middle and not in a good way that has you wondering how things are the way they are. It was just seemingly random things happening that didn’t really add or take away from the plot. It started to get dull from that point on until the last 50-ish pages where things started to wrap up. I will say, I didn’t suspect the person it ended up being and the very last twist at the end was kind of nice, but it all just felt very disjointed for me

I had very high expectations after seeing this book as a recommendation from one of my current favorite authors. Maybe my expectations were too high since she said it was one of the best books she read recently but I struggled to get through this, especially the first half. I was forcing myself to pick it up and make progress every day. Reading for enjoyment shouldn’t feel like a chore! Things finally started to pick up in the second half but then the ending happened and I was left scratching my head wondering where the big “twist” even came from.

Audio book. Well! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. There were many times when I thought I had it figured out but didn’t and I really enjoyed that. Anna, our protagonist is what you would consider to be your typical unreliable narrator at times throughout this book who would do anything to save her marriage and her career. I had many “damn” moments in this book and I’m glad I got closure on things I was expecting to be left unfinished. I look forward to reading more from this author.

“Wow!” is all I can say after finishing “Unfaithful,” by Natalie Barelli. This is the best psychological thriller I have ever read, and I read a lot in this genre. I rarely give a book 5 stars, but this one deserves more than 5 stars.

This book is a page-turner. I had to stop reading a few times and could barely stand to put the book down, and could not wait to pick it up again. There are so many twists and turns, it will make your head spin trying to keep up. Anna, the protagonist, gets into one mess after another. Just when it seems she has one issue solved, two more rear their ugly heads. A writing teacher once told me to put my character up a tree, throw rocks at them, and then get them down safely. Ms. Barelli threw a LOT of rocks at Anna while she was up in the tree. Great job of storytelling!

The book is told in the first person from Anna’s perspective. No spoilers here, but she is a consummate liar in order to save face and present a perfect picture of herself and her life to others. Anna’s character is well developed as one might imagine since the story is in the 1st person POV. Her husband’s character, Luis, less so. I would love to have known more about him.

The ending, which was most unexpected, was satisfying. As I neared the end of the book I was fearful the book would not end well, but it did.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough and cannot wait for Ms. Barelli to write another thriller.
