Better than the first one and the art was better. I that the main villan in vol 1 was muchhhhh cooler, however you get some of Jinwoo’s personal plot development. However I don’t know if he has much character development other than now knowing what he’s capable of. I enjoyed the little nepo baby tho 🤭

I am really getting into this series. Loving the action, the video game-esque style, the characters.

What I am not sure I was fond of in this volume is the complete 180 our main character Jinwoo Sung has. Maybe I expected more of a buildup and I understand the story needs to move along but by the end of the volume he was almost unrecognizable.

Sung Jinwoo, known as the weakest hunter, has been selected as a solo player in a program called the System. He soon discovers that he can become both stronger and faster by following the program's challenges and quests - he can level up.

I really enjoyed the first part of the series, and this didn't disappoint either! It's great to see Jinwoo develop, both physically and mentally, when he goes from being rather fearful to facing danger head on. It's also nice to watch what happens to those who underestimate him because of his low rank as a hunter, although it might get a bit too violent at times. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more!

The stakes got even higher and the plot escalated even more in this second volume. I was a bit surprised with how fast the main character changed, both physically and mentally, but since the central idea of the story is "solo leveling" and his ability to consistently get stronger through training as a "player" in this mysterious game, it made sense thematically. I also don't mind because he got hotter both in character design and canonically to other characters LOL. I particularly liked the reveal towards the end that
the "system" is using him in some capacity and needs him to both survive and get stronger. He goes through some rapid changes in his life or death fight against the other hunters as he commits his first human kills and strengthens his resolve to take advantage of the system too, which I enjoyed seeing.
