The stakes got even higher and the plot escalated even more in this second volume. I was a bit surprised with how fast the main character changed, both physically and mentally, but since the central idea of the story is "solo leveling" and his ability to consistently get stronger through training as a "player" in this mysterious game, it made sense thematically. I also don't mind because he got hotter both in character design and canonically to other characters LOL. I particularly liked the reveal towards the end that the "system" is using him in some capacity and needs him to both survive and get stronger. He goes through some rapid changes in his life or death fight against the other hunters as he commits his first human kills and strengthens his resolve to take advantage of the system too, which I enjoyed seeing.

Review
You know what? I think Yen Press is getting better at adjusting the long-strip format to physical pages! Aside from a few awkwardly placed panels, this installment felt a lot more balanced on the page!
Re-reading the second volume of Solo Leveling is suddenly getting me all hyped up for Jin-Woo's growth all over again haha in this installment we really see him grow, not only physically but also in terms of mental tenacity, for better.... and worse.
We also see him becoming Hot™
So, you know. There's that.

Une superbe suite. Les dessins sont toujours aussi géniaux. J’ai hâte de lire la suite
