This book definitely dragged in some places for me especially as Roosevelt's life become more steeped in political intrigue. I loved the beginning of the book where Morris really delves into Roosevelt's family and home life, his fragile health and his education. As Roosevelt ages his elitism bothered me more and more but I admit his integrity and zest for life along with his desire to learn and work make him a person to admire. I can't forget his fight for those who are disadvantaged and also conservation. While some biographies of presidents have made me like them so much more this book is a good example of how complex we are as people and this includes Roosevelt. He was a great person despite the fact that I do think he kind of bullied people to get what he wanted and he had no clue really about people who weren't born with connections and money. Definitely worth the read to learn more about such an interesting person. Now go visit Theodore Roosevelt National Park and see his cabin in Medora.
Just couldn't finish it. Not a topic of interest for me.
If you like biographies; Morris recounts the remarkable rise of one of America’s most fascinating politicians and presidents.
Well written book. I enjoyed the way this book was written. It does cover more of T.R.'s life through the his childhood to just after the end of his term as President.

Theodore Roosevelt did more before he was 30 than most people do in their entire lives. What a fascinating human. This book was very very detailed, to the point that it had its share of dry spells. However I don't think it was much if a detriment to this book as Roosevelt's early life was fascinating enough to keep me compelled.
