I don't think this book did really anything new to me, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes a romance is good just by being comforting and what I would expect! Although, I did really enjoy the first nation Australian representation and learning more about the culture and traditions! The romance was also extremely cute!
It was hard not to compare to Aristotle and Dante in terms of plot, tone, and even a bit of the characters. At times it seemed a bit rushed to me. However, I think this book will speak to a lot of people who may not always feel seen in YA lit.

I enjoyed reading a story from a different perspective than mine. I think this is a good coming of age type of book, and at times the writing reminded me of SE Hinton’s “The Outsiders”.
Loved it! The story is wonderfully brought to life by Meyne Wyatt in the audiobook. Indigenous, queer, YA fiction set on the far south coast of NSW.
A beautiful, simple story about a young aboriginal boy finding his true sexual identity. I was fortunate to see and hear the author at a Q&A and he is such a gentle, humble wonderful young man and I wish him success in future writings
Loved the Aboriginal perspective of a coming out story!
