This unique picture book is written as a sestina, giving it a rhythmic feel. The illustrations have an old-school feel with bold contrasts of dark colors. I could see the simple, yet compelling story being a terrific way to introduce poetry concepts to kids, and perhaps as a springboard for older kids creating their own sestinas.

The illustrations are really good but the story line is about a girl wishin to fly like a witch.

I liked the message of this book as well as the pictures, however I didn't enjoy the writing. The sentence structure and breaks between pages diminished any flow the story could have had for me.

I don't think I found the correct cadence with which to read it. Maybe if I heard it I would appreciate it more. I loved the illustrations, though, and think it would be a good wordless book.
