Close to being a 5. I loved 95% of it. But 5% was cringy enough to where I may not recommend it based on who I’m talking to. It’s very female centric, and as a male, I could see male readers struggle to get through certain sections because it skews heavily female. The concepts are solid for all genders, but the examples, the writing style, even the design and illustrations are all pretty heavily feminine.

I found Liz and Mollie on Instagram/Facebook, and I couldn't wait to read this book. It did not disappoint! They give super helpful advice on how to handle a variety of different situations at work, especially emotionally-charged ones in their trademark style with great illustrations. I highly recommend anyone with a job read this one! It's definitely one I am going to recommend.

Very interesting and informative. A useful book that I’ll come back to time and again! Very readable and easy to understand. Glad someone is writing about this topic!

Good, not great for me. I much preferred their other book, No Hard Feelings. This seemed more surface level with the anecdotes about work and the coping strategies were similarly “first line” actions versus deeper exploration, but that may also be a function of their target audience. This could be great for someone just starting out in their career.

Errors in the research. There are much more useful books out there about work: like This Working Life by Lisa Leong.

I have quite a few passages marked and quite a few things to think about. Great book for anyone working in a "typical" workplace where you have face-to-face interactions, email conversations and endless meetings. There are bits for everyone.

It’s a good topic, but feels like it’s written for a middle aged white man who has never had to deal with his or anyone else’s emotions at work before. He’s clearly a supervisor or dreams of being one and this is like diet therapy. It’s got awesome comics but I didn’t find anything useful for someone even slightly aware of their emotions and what it means in the work place
