Enjoyed it, itdidn’t grip me compared to other books. I liked the world it was set in. Maybe some characters needed a bit more depth for me to care.

Thank fuck in a world full of fae books, there's this awesome vampire series.
The plot was so unique and beautifully written, I had no idea what was going to happen the entire time and I enjoyed it! Oraya is also such a badass and I love her, I felt all her feelings.
Howeveeeeer the smut & that sentence Raihn says at the end were NOT IT what a disservice to his character. Also I wasn’t on edge nor completely absorbed but solid 4⭐️

Rated ⭐ 2.5/5 - This is book was very much Sarah J. Maas with a twist.
The word building is uncanilly familiar but with less complex politics, since the author really didn't really bother the explain thoroughly the reason behing the tension between the two vampire clans - except for revenge and thirst for power - and why marrying two heirs wouldn't solve their problems. The description of the "vampires" (the wings and powers) and the "Houses" also looked a lot like the fae and Night Court in ACOTAR [b:A Court of Thorns and Roses|50659467|A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1)|Sarah J. And WHAT IS UP with these authors and their kink for former sex slaves male heroes??? Give it a rest, it's been done before. Also, this one also fits under the 'he fucker my trauma right out of me' romantasy category (lame).
Besides, ~spoiler!!~ the whole plot being based on the hero/heir being disguised as a nobody under the nose of the enemy court, the heroine being brainwashed into thinking she was in the right side of history, meanwhile being seduced and falling in love with her enemy has ALSO been done before in From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout [b:From Blood and Ash|52831200|From Blood and Ash (Blood and Ash, #1)|Jennifer L. As for compliments I liked the characters, specially Vincent, and the tournament was well thought out, with interesting twists. The book was very entertaining, well written, the protagonists had chemistry and I read it pretty quickily to see how it would wrap up, but everything was just something I had already read before, so I won't give the sequence a try because I feel like I can already predict almost everything that is going to happen.
