I was not too fond of the ending. There was too much smut and insufficient plot development; I know it's erotica..and the husband was manipulative

hmm

I didn’t went as well as I expected. It was an interesting read with a promising story. However there’s a lot of questions here. Why did Vivian acted like that? What happened between them? I would enjoyed this a little more if there’s less about anton and others. The end lose a star for me. Too short. Wish we got more of their journey.

3rd person POV- done well in connecting with the character’s emotions

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️- all the scenes, a bit of

Triggers: dub-con, D/s, multiple partners, cheating

The story is an unrealistic in the sense that Vivian seems to hate her husband for an unknown reason. Then when she is attracted to him, she fights it.

My other issue is we don’t get much with her master. The epilogue should have been about them bonding, seeing as that was pushed by the trainers so much.

Dark Guilty Pleasures with a Twist

Kitty Thomas is a brilliant author and master storyteller of dark romance books. “Guilty Pleasures” features Michael, his wife Vivian, Dr Lindsay Smith, Anton and Gabe. This is Vivian’s story about acknowledging she’s a Submissive and learning how to live a 24/7 D/s lifestyle.

The BDSM and D/s relationships in this book are descriptive and tell the reader a lot about the fine line of pain & pleasure. After Vivian arrives at the Pleasure House, consequences are graphic as are the sex scenes. This is definitely a book for adult readers who have some knowledge about BDSM lifestyles and know the difference between misconduct by a man vs the role of Sir/Master. Pleasure for both parties is the end result and isn’t always of the physical nature.

Well written and I will continue to read & recommend books by Kitty Thomas. She’s an A-List Dark Romance author!

Disclaimer: I am a fan girl when it comes to Kitty Thomas.

Guilty Pleasures is aptly named; it was a pure pleasure to read and my guilt comes from not reading it sooner.

Vivian is a bored wife, unable to have a satisfying relationship inside or outside of the bedroom with her husband Michael.

"She wasn’t even sure it was his fault anymore. She wasn’t sure it was anyone’s fault."

Vivian is sent on a journey of discovery not one of self discovery from the start because it was not her choice but ultimately the choice is made.

From the first meeting with Dr. Smith you realize that Vivian is missing something, a something she isn’t aware of or even knows she wants. It’s a good thing she goes to therapy then right?

“Mrs. Delany?”
“Yes?”
"You’re going to lose all your inhibitions.”

When Vivian walks in to Dome she gets introduced to her deepest desires and her deepest fears mixed together in the form of one man, Anton. The world that he shows her is one she doesn’t want but one she cannot stay away from.

Guilty Pleasures is not a book I can review without giving away its secrets and they must stay a secret for the reader’s enjoyment. Being inside Vivian's head and you are with her every step of the way; every submission and every fear or want conquered though it may seem unreal.

"The more she explored, the more she felt like Alice down the rabbit hole. A stoned caterpillar wouldn’t have shocked her at this point, and she would have gladly requested some of whatever he was smoking."

The end of this book was absolutely perfect and one I was hoping for. The epilogue ties up everything nicely and gives you the closure you need. Kitty Thomas has a way with words and I just love how she uses them to end a story. They evoke the emotion from all that you just read and echo in your head after you are through.

"The moment the blindfold came off, things got complicated, as he’d known they would. But either way, he would always have that moment. Where it was real. It made the entire fucked-up thing worth doing all over again."

I havent read too many books on the darker side like this but after I read Comfort Food I found myself so intrested!
I kept finding myself asking while reading it "Should I be enjoying this?" But I did very much so!
Its writtin so well, Thomas had me drawn into the story at the very beginning!
And I have to say I freakin loved the end, toward the end I knew it was gonna be but when it happend it just made the story even better:)
