The over sexualization from the beginning turned me off from this book. If there were less mentions of masturbation and “wet thighs” I may have been able to finish reading it, but I was not able to.

I was hesitant to read this. From the look of the cover, it seemed like it would be another YA book with the same tropes that are currently in other YA books. Oh wow was I wrong! This book is fantastic! I actually had both the hardcover from the library and the ebook so I could read before I went to bed. It's the fake of the last 3 witches who are the daughters of the last wizard in a city. And there are mysterious murders going around the city. But it's also a story of finding yourself and learning you're stronger and smarter than the people around you have led you to believe. I know I'm being vague, but I'm not sure how to describe this without giving out spoilers. But it's a great book and I highly suggest fans of urban magic and folklore and the Juniper Tree give this a try.

I fell behind for book club because it was a terrible and busy season of life. I’ll pick this back up in the fall I think
