I want to make one thing clear: I am totally down for dark themes. I don't automatically rate a book lower because it talks about taboo subjects (look at my highly rated books and you'll see). The reason this didn't work for me was that I was bored.

I don't particularly like these fairy tale retellings in general, but people I usually agree with liked this so I thought I'd try it out.

It just felt like nothing was happening for so long.

Honestly this has already slipped out of my brain so I can't get any more detailed
