Read this for my class on Severe Mental Illnesses and it was a wonderful read. Read it in one sitting...kind of because I had to...I have a paper due and I procrastinated hardcore. But regardless of that, it was a book I didn't mind reading in one sitting. It was very insightful and I feel like I learned a lot about Bipolar Disorder from this memoir. It was very well written and kept me interested the entire time. If you are going into the field to work with individuals with mental illnesses or it's just a topic you are interested in learning more about, I highly recommend. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

A decent book about the thoughts and experiences of a manic-depressive. However, I felt like the author tended to explain the same concept with different metaphors that often it felt tedious and dull. I enjoyed the spin she put at the end on the appropriate language to use and the medical profession’s bias on this disability.

Listened to the audiobook and I always like the experience someone narrating their own story.
