Beautifully written and heartbreaking, this book takes the reader on a roller coaster through the world of mental illness from within and without. I can’t imagine a more perfect telling of the story of what psychosis does to a person and those closest to them than this one, written from the point of view of twins, one on the inside and one on the outside of schizophrenia.

"Dum Spiro, Spero."
" While I Breathe, I Hope."

I wrote a review for this, but it unfortunately got deleted and I can barely recall what I wrote. All I know is that this book was phenomenal, heartbreaking, eye-opening. It several times brought tears to my eyes. It didn't just look at schizophrenia from a personal perspective, but also the effect the disease has on family members, and even the delicate, competitive, and incredible bond between identical twins. The stigma against mental disease is awful, and it's books like these that help combat that stigma. God bless these two women, who went through different types of frustration and hell. I hope they're both doing well. An amazing book, one that I'm glad I own.

I read it in one day, and it was good. It was a more unique account of how schizophrenia affects both the family and the individual, especially since they are twins

Great book - written by a psychiatrist and her schizophrenic twin sister.
