I'm not sure what my problem is. The book is very well edited and quite well written. There are a few things that I would change but then that's true of most books i read. My problem here was that i wasn't able to get into it. I struggled through the book page after page really trying my hardest to give it the love that it seems as if it deserves but I just couldn't until around 60% through when I started to get into the story a little bit more.
It could have something to do with the fact that I'm not a fan of any of the characters, they just don't quite seem like real people to me but maybe that will change as the books go on and they get more development. I didn't connect with them on any type of level either but I don't feel fair judging it based on this one read through because I'm just not quite sure if it's because of how they're written or if it's something to do with me. Like maybe I'm more tired and drained than I thought which is a possibility.
I had to give this 3 stars, just super middle of the board because I honestly don't know if the reason I didn't really appreciate it was just me or not. The writing is good, the characters seem as if they should be somewhat likable even though I can't feel it personally and it's a pretty cool premise. The whole thing just screamed that it was something that i should love when i signed up for the ARC, but it just missed the mark for me and I can't put my finger on exactly why.
If I'm giving a review of any less than 4 stars normally I like to be at least helpful with it and mention things that I think could be worked on to make the story more enjoyable because then it feels like I'm not just sitting here being negative but with this one it's an impossibility because I just can't get a grip on what was off for me. I'm gonna end this review with an apology to the author and to myself because I really wanted to like this and I am so sorry that I couldn't get fully into it. However I will be giving it a reread and reading the next in the series when I'm in less of a rush to finish and a little more well rested because it definitely deserves a second chance.

Lately I've been in a reading mood for some paranormal reads. Ghostly Touches hit the nail on the head and now I'm obsessed with this series. Not only is the world building amazing, but the characters are unique and each have their own secrets, lies, humor, with just the right amount of PNR thrown in.

Willow is a necromancer, though it seems she might be more than she lets on, who makes a living out of helping ghosts/souls to cross over to the other side, making enemies on the way as well. Though the group of men, specifically Vicktor, Theo and Kwil had me wanting to bonk each on the head just to get them to stop being selfish and blaming Willow for everything. Jonah, on the other hand was a total sweetheart and the only one who really deserves Willow at the moment.

The last few chapters and cliffhanger took me by surprise, I was not expecting it at all. Rrlease day for book two cant come any sooner. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

This is the sort of thing you go into figuring you know what's about to go down. You figure you know all the dots and can connect them already for a pretty damn good story. Let me tell you now - you're wrong.
This is not the story you think you're going to get it is so much better. The nsfw scenes hit every time, not losing any of the luster (heh). The storyline is intriguing, the world building is setting us up for one hell of a ride.
That ending. THAT ENDING.
