It took my awhile to finish this one~ not because it was bad, just life got in the way.
I didn’t hate this one ~ it felt slow at times and I actually was counting the chapters down towards the end. It was emotionally really beautiful and the growth was really nice but, I just felt like it dragged on so much. The depth was great but there were times where I just wanted it to be over.
I enjoyed a lot and it was a satisfying end to the duo but, I just felt like it dragged on.
Their reconciliation was unbelievable amazing, I was so enthralled in it! The best two to three chapters in the whole novel but it took like 40 or 50 to get there 😮💨

3.5/5
- Less WOW factor than the first book, so I am happy this is just the duology.
- LOVED the flashbacks to Vincent’s and Reihn’s past. The indecision on how Oraya felt about her father and Reihn and how this changes over the course of the book was really interesting too.
- More Mische! SO glad someone of the books further along in the series are just about her
- LOTS more spicy scenes in this one - although sometimes they went on for too long and I lost interest.
- My fav scene was probably the hot springs - but mostly because of the nature aspect, which you don’t get too much of in this story.
**SPOILER TERRITORY**
- When that guy helps Oraya and Vincent into his apartment after they are badly injured and then they make lots of noise doing the deed, I bet he regretted that… Also, I was trying not to gag when they were breaking into the castle through the sewer tunnels.
- Everlayne was only around for a bit but her obsession and castle in Lahore were quite creepy.
- We got to see so many back stories which were great - I hope bits of these are used further along in the series, even though we are losing Oraya and Reihn’s viewpoint.
- Wasn’t super keen on the ending, how Reihn was pretty much brought back from the dead again and the gods saving the day. Hopefully we see some consequences in the following books…
