I really enjoyed this book. It was a little bit slow in parts but overall a great read.
The story had a great conclusion which set the universe up for more, while still nicely closing the chapter ('scuse the pun) on the King and Queen. I also really appreciated that the main characters didn't always win. It was a refreshing change and meant the book wasn't flooded with deus ex machina - although I'll be honest there were still a few "where is s/he? Any moment now... Ah yep there it is" moments...
My only real gripe with the book would be the number of near death experiences the characters go through, before either partaking in fairly rambunctious sex or marching off to another battle in the space of less than a week. I know, I know "magic healing potions", but it still started to get a little ridiculous...
Overall loved the book and will likely read the next one in the universe.

I think there definitely were some aspects that felt like tired tropes but overall it was an enjoyable read. I didn’t expect how we got to the ending. The rejection of Nyaxia then the goddess of lost things granting her wish was very unexpected. Even if I didn’t expect how the ending came to be it was exactly what I expected with some added drama to lead into the next duology
