This book has been dear to my heart for many years. I read this over and over again as a kid and related so much to Cornelia. Virginia was the next door neighbor I always wanted and I lived vicariously through her escapades. This book was the reason why I chose to be a pianist and why I now teach piano as my career. It is also the reason for my love of words. I will always adore this book and will continue to read it for comfort like a soft blanket or a warm cup of tea.

This is a book that has stuck with me from childhood to adulthood. The story is sweet, grand, and full of silliness.

This was a sweet enough story, but it was utterly predictable. Since this is a book for kids in intermediate grades, perhaps my two star rating is a bit harsh, but the writing just didn't excite me the way I hoped it would.

It's a good read if you're looking for something mindless to read that doesn't involve much thought or effort.

same old story. absentee parents and the little girl befriends a much better adult than her parents.

But, I did enjoy the stories of the sisters' escapades. A very cute kids book. Can't wait for mother/daughter book club to discuss

My favorite book from elementary school reading i need a copy of it NOW

Great book for kids. It is stories within a story that teach history/geography/vocabulary. A very endearing story.

A very heartwarming story--one that makes me want to have wild adventures. Carpe diem, as they say.

even though i've read this like seven times i still cried ... what a gem about friendship, adventure, travel, growing up, dogs. CHAPTER BOOKS ARE THE BEST THING ON EARTH

Cute story. Great for elementary students.

I've always loved this book since I read it in middle school. I loved imagining being with the Somerset sisters in all the crazy stories. I definitely recommend this!
