A darkly beautiful piece of fiction that has more in common with a poem or a song than a book. I highly recommend.

As all other reviews have stated, this one's a mind-fuck. It's weird and confusing up until you reach the end. I listened to the audiobook of this on Libby and found the performance to be very well done. The book was frustrating and long-winded in parts, but it's deliberate. It's all leading up to an ending hinted at throughout the novel.
The rambling, overly-philosophical/existential way that Jake and his girlfriend's conversations twist was equal parts irritating and relatable. I, too, am constantly overwhelmed with thoughts of what life is meant to be, if you can be true to yourself, etc. I resonated with his girlfriend's constant doubts about their relationship and other issues. Her indecisiveness was something I connected with. Should she end things?
It was a very interesting read. Still, it rambled and went on and on a bit too much. I think it would've been better suited as a short story.

Eh... 2.5-2.75 stars.
Fascinating and leaves a lot to be figured out outside of the novel itself. It leaves you digging for some answers. I might have to go do some internet research now...
It made me think and I read it in two sittings, but it was certainly not my favorite. I'm glad I read it but I'm also glad that I didn't spend more than 24 hours on it.
