Using old keys to hunt for secrets from your past is an interesting notion for a mystery. Unfortunately it didn't really fit with the rest of this story.

Also, what about the ghost?!?! That went nowhere fast just when I was getting interested.

A mystery involving long held resentments, marital infidelity, a search for a missing wife, a search for a missing past, and multiple searches for redemption. I only rated this book two stars--even though I almost gave it three stars--because I didn't really become involved or invested with any of the characters.

A lot of the things that happened in this book were conveniently convenient. But, I had to stay up late last night to finish it because I HAD to know what happened, and that's the important thing in a book.

This was a mediocre book at best. I have read O'Shaughnessy's other series and while it's not the best I've ever read, it's not bad. This is not of that caliber. It was like the authors wanted to try something different and didn't succeed. The writing is disjointed, the plot is silly and there really aren't ANY characters to cheer for in this book. I finished it because I wanted to see how it ended... and what a convoluted ending it was.

Sounds interesting, but there are MUCH better mysteries out there. Pass.

This novel had a lot of potential but ultimately just wasn't as successful as it could have been. Although interesting enough to keep me reading, it never completely grabbed me in the way that O'Shaughnessy's books do. This one felt as if it were rushed or something. The plot was on the thin side. Although the central mystery was compelling enough that I wanted to find out what happened, I was underwhelmed by the final result. It just didn't feel completely satisfying to me. I was expecting much more suspense from O'Shaghnessy. Unfortunately, it just fell short for me. There were a lot of pieces and parts to this novel that just didn't work out for me. If you're a big mystery fan, it might be worth the read but otherwise you'll find other novels that will be much more satisfying!
