La, la, sweet romance, sweet romance, la, ah hell, we just veered into another knotting-and-rut scene because apparently every single shifter does that now, and then back to sweet proposals.
Sigh.
Sigh.

I was hooked on this one and was absolutely loving it but honestly the horrible editing just kept yanking me out of the story. The switch between US/UK spelling was odd, pacing felt slow and then fast at times, names were left out and there were many, many misspelled words.
It’s such a bummer because I honestly loved this story. I do have to say though, as the book went on, I became more and more confused and honestly figured I’m missing a book… or three.
It’s confusing when authors put together books that are meant to be read together to fully understand who some characters are, but the other book isn’t out yet. I also don’t understand some of the side characters and how rushed the brother and his demon mate came into being. Is that another story we were supposed to read?
Or was their story rushed because this one didn’t focus on that couple? How did the shadows help the brother escape?
Kind of confusing :(
Who is the sister and her girlfriend? Are we supposed to know these people?
I felt like characters were just dropped in for plot purposes and I’m just so confused.

Cute concept. Adorable characters. But incomplete ending. I feel like there’s at least two chapters missing. Plot was ramping up and then just… ended? no satisfactory ending for the romantic pairing or the family or conflict or anything really. The ending is a cop out which angered me cause the story was actually very compelling. If you’re not angry with the ending. What’s wrong with you?
ETA: there WERE missing chapters and they were SO SO SO good they had me crying, what a fantastic wrap up to the story. Autumn and rook are so precious and I’m so glad that things worked out with his witch family, and his brother and all the fated mate shared dreams were so so so romantic. Ugh

I am not sure I can do Rook and Autumn justice in a review! These two had my heart within pages. Rook had no confidence given his shifted condition. He was a sweetheart despite his situation who was happy having his shop, mostly because he could watch the pretty witch Autumn every day from his window. This was somehow just all kind of adorable. Autumn was a protective one when it came to those he cared about. So, when Rook and Autumn actually meet, they are just the most romantic. I cannot wait for the more in this series. A very heartwarming and magical read.
