I got two Emily Henry books for my birthday from a dear friend of mine, and thought to myself “is there a better way to end the summer than by readin Beach Read?”
Well, I don’t think there is one!
The writing reminded me a lot of Lucy Score, one of my favourite authors. I flew through it, I kept coming back to it for at least 50 pages per day, and the final 100-ish pages are a beautiful storm.
I still couldn’t shake the feeling that I missed something more profound in the middle section. It sometimes felt like I read the same scene over and over again, albeit in a slightly different setting or wording. So I marked it down slightly for that reason.
All in all a really nice book to end my august reading with, and I am excited to read more from Emily Henry in the future!
