Also Huxley (yes his name is Huxley) is terrible at being a serial killer and should've been caught five dozen times. Unfortunately though I don't fully hate him. He was charming, but with the complete lack of consent it's not a love story, it's a killer manipulating a woman to enable him.
Could've been good with a few fixes.

😳 This book definitely lets me know I need therapy 😆 It has lots of toxicity & I love it 🥵 Hux is great, & the way he's soft (well only sometimes) just for her had me in a chokehold 🥹 & the way Kai is just the right amount of snarky wit & pushes back against him had me eating this story up. I loved it, the only wish I have is that there was more of it! it ended way too soon for me.

In one paragraph it'd say:
"The loud snap of a twig makes me sit up. "Hello?" I ask, getting to my feet."
Then right after that, would say:
"The next sound, clearly a step, has me bolting upright in my chair. I shove myself to my feet and look around."
Never mentioning that she sat down or anything in between. I think it could use another round of editing, but other than that, it was fun, hot read.

This talented storyteller never disappoints me with her master mind for dark romances.
I've been excited for this book since finding out that AJ was writing a prank call dark romance. I knew she would have fun with it! I do wish the book was longer to see more of Huxley and Kai.
