Charming short story.

It may seem like a simple enough adventure tale but in truth, it is laden with a lot of advice and lessons pertaining to coming-of-age and "being your person". And the power/strength of a woman/mother. I loved it. It's also a great and fun introduction for children on Asgardian stories/myth.
funny

To me, something makes this work seem incomplete. I suspect it could be a combination of it having too few scenes and somewhat underdeveloped characters. Considering the setting, I would expect an epic tale, but I will acknowledge that most members of its target audience likely have a limited attention span, and I will confess it is therefore mildly problematic that I consider myself among those "most members." It was enjoyable, but I've spent enough time scratching my head. Suffice it to say I think it could be better.

It’s a really good and heartfelt children story without any gore, violence, or horror. It fits well into the Nordic myths and feels natural. Yet it has a deeper connection with the real world, with such actual topics like refugees and human trafficking.

Siapa Goddess Freya?

Neil Gaiman'ın hayal gücünün uçsuz bucaksız olduğuna inanıyorum. İşinin bunu bizlerle paylaşmak olmasından dolayı da nasıl mutluyum, anlatamam!

Odd ve Ayaz Devleri'ni, [b:The Ocean at the End of the Lane|15783514|The Ocean at the End of the Lane|Neil Gaiman|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1351914778s/15783514.jpg|21500681]'den bayağı önce okumuştum. Ne zaman bir Neil kitabı okusam tepkim, "ulan Neil; yaptın yine yapacağını!" oluyor zaten. The Ocean at the End of the Lane'den aklıma kazınan cümle, "Yetişkinler, yolları takip eder, Çocuklar keşfe çıkar" idi.

Great kids book. The boys loved it.

I love anything by Gaiman, but this is the first children's book I have read by him. The sarcasm and strength reveal a character that is both young and innocent, but also wise. Odd is the type of child I wish I could be as an adult. It is no wonder the Asgards chose to follow him as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Odd's simple solutions and patience in the midst of a confusing and rapidly-changing world make him one of my favorite young heroes.

I love reading Neil Gaiman with my kid.
