What a punch in the face. This is one of those books I love because it made me hate everyone and everything so much!
Stunning read. Beautiful writing and mixed genre is right on the money. I was emotionally drawn into the very personal story of Danny and yet completely floored by the dark underbelly of this story.

3.5 stars. I was so torn by this book! It is beautifully written, haunting even... and the characters shine vividly. Throughout the book, I trusted in Daddy's strength to carry them through, to see their family rise above the increasing obstacles. The ending surprised me (no spoilers, I promise), and left me wanting. For this reason, I can only bring myself to rate it 3.5.
