An archaeological dig in Maine is the scene of multiple murders and a tragic fire, and it's up to Professor Emma Fielding to figure out who killed whom and why. I discovered this series having first stumbled into the Hallmark movies. Not sure I'll read more of it.

This book did not hold my interest. I had to force myself to finish it. I liked all of the archeological aspects to it but it wasn't enough.

Thrilling and intelligent
A truly entertaining and well crafted mystery. Perfect for fans of archaeology, history, and a great murder mystery. A must read.

Solid mystery but I struggled getting into it.
The book was good and maybe I struggled because I watched the hallmark movie version before reading but I liked the plot. Just seemed like I did not really feel connected to any of the characters. I wanted it to be great because I loved the movie. I will read the next one to see if it improves since I don't know anything about the story.

Such a fun archaeological mystery! My minor complaint --- I wanted even more archaeology.

Almost feels as if it were written by two different people--one of whom is a better writer than the other. The setting is strong and interesting and the characters good. But the plotting is uneven, the pacing odd, and the denouement goes on forever.
