I'm not even going to lie, this book gave me everything and more. The plot was so interesting and the characters were so complex and I really just enjoyed it. I love the pacing of the story as well, I feel like it felt perfect for a bully romance like this one. It's not technically a slow burn but it kinda felt like it was beside the fact that they did things. It was so obvious Hamilton was so into her from the beginning ohmygod he really served the boy-obsessed trope in this. And reading from his perspective of him slowly falling in love with Gwen AH IT WAS SO GOOD!! Also, I feel like the plot was really unique and their chemistry GIRL it was fr off the charts. I LOVED the banter and I feel like I could never get bored reading this book. The cover of the book is really ugly tho, I wish they could change it but I'm still def going to buy this EVERYONE GO READ GWENHAMILTON RIGHT NOW !!
Writing is decent. I didn’t much care for the h or the H or their dynamics. Their inner thoughts are cringey at times. Her’s sounding like a 40-yr old woke feminist, and his being a whiney entitled beta dude. The sex was decent and frequent, if a bit repetitive and vanilla. She calls him a dirty talker at one point but I don’t remember him saying much more than “Show me your tits”.

This is my first book by these authors but it’s definitely not my last! The writing was superb and everything flowed so nicely. The story was fantastic and actually made since unlike some other enemies-to-lovers where the initial bullying doesn’t make sense or the main female is either a push over or annoying. Nope, these characters were all fantastic and the whole book from beginning to end was a page turner! I loved it! Not to mention it was super steamy!

I don’t know what it is about high school bully romances that I like, but I can’t seem to read enough. Devil May Care is one of these. It isn’t quite as dark a some of the books I’ve read, but it isn’t a romantic comedy either.
Devil May Care is told from both Gwen’s and Hamilton’s points of view, which completely made sense to the story. I like that at the beginning of the book Hamilton isn’t immediately likable. Though having his POV helps him become more likable as the book goes on. You can tell that Gwen has a positive effect on him, and he becomes a much less jaded and self-centered person.
I find that many of these types of books have some sort of mystery element. And while these two characters did have a past, there was nothing nefarious going on. These are just two people who grew up with different life experiences. First, learning to coexist, then learning how to be together.
