I really love Paulo Coelho. He is a master and a genius and I would and will read everything he has written. Down to his grocery list, which for some reason I assume is full of exotic fruits and spices.
His are the books you read with a pen in hand. Where you read and reread pages and lines because they are so beautiful they make your heart ache and you want the pleasure of reading them again. I hold my breath when I have a Coelho book in hand – and yes, with him, you buy the REAL book – because I know I am reading something important, something big and beautiful and amazing.

Apart from the storyline, the book has good researched details about the World of Glitz and Glamour and even the World of Crimes.
I enjoyed "The Alchemist," so I figured this book would also be easy to read and uplifting. I struggled getting through the first few pages. The plot is slow and uninteresting. The narrator's rants about wealth and fame--no matter how valid--offer no solutions, only frustration that frequently resembles a toddler's tantrum. Because of this, the only bit of happiness in the novel, Jasmine's relationship, feels hollow and forced. I didn't care if she was happy or not. By page thirty I wanted the Russian to kill everyone so it would finally end.
The title was ambiguous and the repetition of ideas and examples was so annoying.

Worst book I've read this year, and I hate saying that because I really enjoy his books. This was extremely hard to get to and I didn't like any of the characters, but maybe that was the point?
