Red Thorns

Rina Kent

3.63 AVERAGE

Rina Kent has done it again. She is a master at creating dark and twisty characters and writing dark and twisty stories and Sebastian and Naomi’s relationship and story has easily solidified itself on my favourites list.

Red Thorns follows Sebastian Weaver and Naomi Chester. Sebastian is Blackwood’s beloved star quarterback and Naomi is a badass cheerleader for the Black Devils. After making a bet with Reina, Sebastian sets his sights on Naomi as his target. What started as a simple bet transforms into a twisted relationship between Sebastian and Naomi.

After reading Yellow Thorns, I just knew that Sebastian and Naomi’s story was going to leave me hot and bothered. The chemistry between them was unbearably hot and I could not get enough of them. Sebastian and Naomi both have dark sides. Sebastian has managed to hide his behind his heart throb star quarterback persona while Naomi has hid hers behind her sarcastic antisocial persona. Past traumatic family issues have led both of them to develop some specific kinks and they find comfort in each other to explore them. Sebastian has been groomed his entire life to withhold his darker side and never reveal it but Naomi manages to break his mask and embrace his darkness with her own. I loved how unapologetic Sebastian and Naomi were throughout the book of their situationship/relationship and how their bond grew as they learned more about each other’s past.

The story was well written and had me racing to finish. As the book started inching towards the end I was anticipating everything to go off the walls and of course Rina Kent did not disappoint. Red Thorns does end in a cliffhanger as per Rina Kent style and I can’t wait to read Black Thorns and see how the rest of Sebastian and Naomi’s story unfolds.

Rina Kent knows how to blow my mind, just when I think I got her figured out she comes with this story and gets my jaw on the floor. Seriously, if you are as addicted to very dark romances as I am, you better read this. Sebastian and Naomi, two characters I love love love. Yes, Sebastian is as dark as they come, he is my perfect bully while Naomi is a refreshing character. This story is a wild ride, steamy scenes and well everything is the perfect dark bully romance recipe, beware, this is a dark dark story so please if you have any triggers make sure this is a book for you. I need the next one like my next breath. Bravo 5-stars!!!

i didn't read enough to consider it read...

The sex is violent, twisted and...cathartic; though some consensual non consent the heroine has a safe word unlike my other favorite Bully Romances (ahem Untouchable and The Boy on the Bridge). The connection between the H/h absolute

This book is . . .wow! I'm currently binge reading all of Rina Kent's books before I read Gods of Malice to get the best reading experience as I was encouraged to do by another reader. I have to say that if I could give this book 3.5 stars, I would. I love how Rina Kent puts so many twists and turns in her books and keeps the reader guessing. Red Thorns is no different, but I confess I had a hard time with the sex scenes. It obviously didn't keep me from reading the book and I will definitely read Black Thorns. Why? Because you can't help but become engrossed in the characters and wanting to know their story. And although I had a hard time with the sex scenes, I did completely appreciate how Rina Kent dove into Sebastian and Naomi's psyche to explain their kink from both characters perspectives.

I'm a total fan of dark, twisted books and characters with anti-heroes. Rina Kent gives me that in every book!

Sebastian and Naomi's story part I.
