This is a great general overview of the topic and gives tons of references if you want to learn more about a specific subject. I think the ordering is a little jarring at times but they give you page numbers if you want to ‘skip ahaead’

Really interesting book, I just never had the time to read it and had to return it to my library. Will pick it up again sometime.

This book contains an interesting overview of magic and the occult and how those topics were treated through time and through cultures. You can read about history on whole or focus on a specific time/culture easily.
