I wasn't keen on Gage's story but this was just brilliant, the characters are getting so likable apart from maybe Dice with his constant hashtag!!!!! If wanting to jump in the book and slap him is the reaction the author going for then great its working!!!!

But i loved Roslyn, what an amazing character she has to be my favorite so far, and i love Thad the gladiator, really i can see it!!!!

The story line has just gotten AMAZING!!!!! I have brought the next book and cant wait to see whats going to happen!!!!!

This book really pleasantly surprised me. In the beginning I was expecting a bland, sweet, boring heroine. But then the way the author wove the mystery around her, that really hooked me early on. I kind of expected this would be the book that I'd just have to read in order to move on to the next ones in the series, but I was very pleased to find that I loved it even more than I liked the first book.

Meh. I struggled to get through this. The world and magic system is falling apart. Beings that were meant to be all powerful are now dwarfed by even bigger all powerful people. There's always another apocalypse and it's too soon, not pulled off as well as Buffy.

The humour isn't that great feels forced and I'm not sold by this romance. I really like Zee so considering reading the next. But I'm a bit tired by the convoluted fantasy world with holes.

i hate self depricating MCs so starting this book was definitely hard for me. i get it if she just wants to focus on college or whatever, but after reading the sentence “no sense in torturing myself over someone who doesn’t find me all that appealing” because he called her sweet and not-for-him, and knowing it’s thad he’d say it not in a bad way, irks me. like UGH fine here we go. but i should’ve known a cocky confident character would be paired with an insecure one.
i  love her character development (redevelopment?) though.

First, I totally skipped book one. There’s a really good chance I’m skipping it until I finish the last book of the series. There’s no real reason, other than the fact that I truly don’t feel like reading about Kimber yet.

Now back to the important stuff. I really loved Thad in the first series. I am such a sucker for the cocky-funny-sexy males CM writes. I’m weak for it if I’m being honest. So Thad is right up my alley.

Without being too redundant, also this book is fairly old so it’s been reviewed. This was good. It’s interesting because this if the first companion novel styled paranormal series written by CM that I’ve ever read. We’re getting bits and and pieces of the story, but new couples every book.

I’m about to start book three, my boy Zee is calling me!
