Audre Lorde’s way with words is truly otherworldly and whatever I read next will seem dull in comparison. What a beautiful beautiful book.

This is the kind of book where you know what you’re reading page by page and it’s beautiful (the amount of sentences and passages I marked is ridiculous) but you don’t know what the book is about until you get to the end. And then once you know what it is about, every page is even more beautiful than it was before.

This book made me cry several times, but I loved it perhaps for that reason.

Tender, fierce, poetic, and alive - what a beautiful book. As Lorde attests, it is both by and about being Black, lesbian, mother, and warrior poet, but perhaps most of all it is about love.
